This month's spotlight shines on
Raul Rondariz Jr., LVN.
Not every nurse knows from the beginning that healthcare is where they’re meant to be. For Raul, that realization came later in life.
Before becoming an LVN, Raul worked in fast food, retail, customer service, and eventually for a home oxygen company. It was while delivering oxygen equipment and teaching patients how to use it that he discovered a passion for helping others.

California LVN Continuing Education Requirements
In California, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) are required by the Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) to:
🔵 Complete 30 contact hours of approved continuing education (CE) every two (2) years as a condition of license renewal.
🔵 First-time renewals are exempt from the 30-hour requirement but must still pay the renewal fee and submit the renewal application to keep the license active.
Maintaining an Active LVN License
To stay in good standing, LVNs must:
🔵 Complete CE hours before the license expiration date
🔵 Retain CE completion certificates for at least 4 years for BVNPT audit
🔵 Ensure your name and license number match exactly on CE documentation
🔵 Submit renewal application and fee on time every two years
⚠️ Failure to meet CE requirements can result in delayed renewal, a lapsed license, or disciplinary action.
